MDTP Readiness tests are designed to give teachers and students information about important foundational knowledge needed to be successful in a math course.

Middle School Field Test MS35D17 | Assesses prior knowledge needed in an entry-level middle school mathematics course. This is an item test that includes many items that are new and not previously tested for reliability or validity. Therefore, results should not be used to evaluate student readiness. Field-testing should occur in Common Core Grade 6 classrooms. No calculator. |
Math 7 Readiness 7R40A15 | Assesses concepts needed for success in a Common Core Math 7 course. Typically given in Math 6 and through the first semester of Math 7. No calculator. Also available: Older version PR45A10. |
Math 8 Readiness 8R40A15 | Assesses concepts needed for success in a Common Core Math 8 course. Typically given in the second semester of Math 7 and through the first semester of Math 8. No calculator. Also available: Older version PR45A10 or AR45A10. |
High School Math Readiness HS45A15 | Assesses concepts needed for success in either Common Core Algebra 1 or Integrated Math 1. Typically given in the second semester of Math 8 and through the first semester of Algebra 1 or Integrated Math 1. No calculator. Also available: Older version AR45A10. Geometry Readiness GR45D17. New. | Assesses concepts needed for success in Geometry. Includes some informal geometry students should have encountered prior to and during algebra. Second-Year Algebra Readiness SR45D17. New. | Assesses concepts needed for success in Algebra 2 following a course in geometry. Calculus Readiness CR45A12 | Assesses concepts needed for success in a first calculus course. Typically given in the second semester of Pre-calc (in some schools Int Math 3) and through the first semester of a Calculus course Calculator optional. You may administer a readiness test as often as you like. However most teachers test once at the beginning, once at the end and many also test in the middle of a course. Nearer the end of the course, it is recommended that you administer the test for the subsequent course in the math sequence.
For example, in a Geometry class, the Geometry Readiness test GR45A06, is most often administered in the first semester, and often in the middle of the school year as well. Then near the end of the course, the teacher will usually administer the Second Year Algebra Readiness test, SR40A06.
