The CSU/UC Mathematics Diagnostic Testing Project (MDTP) provides materials and services to support student readiness and success in secondary and college mathematics courses. All materials and services are provided at no charge.
Teachers use MDTP diagnostics to adapt their instruction to meet the needs of their students and improve their courses. Schools use MDTP results to guide collaborative departmental discussions and initiatives, to develop effective intervention and enrichment programs, and to support placement and policy decisions.
MDTP materials include online and paper multiple choice diagnostic tests, written response items, and online high school placement tests.
Notice Due to School Closures: MDTP is temporarily allowing remote online testing of students. Please see the Remote Testing Policy and Use Agreement.
Testing remotely can be very valuable, however the teacher does not have the same control of the testing environment. The following materials may help you figure out a workable protocol for test administration: Remote Testing Slides and Notes with step-by-step considerations and ideas.
Paper test materials will not be sent or scored.
