Before Administering an MDTP Test

  1. What tests does MDTP have available?
    Here are the current MDTP assessments and these are our recommendations for when to test for each course.
  2. Where can I order MDTP paper readiness materials?
    MDTP paper tests can be ordered here.
  3. How far in advance should I place my order?
    We recommend that orders be placed at least 2 weeks in advance to ensure you receive your package on time. If you plan on picking up your MDTP test materials at UCLA, we recommend doing the order at least 3 weeks in advance to ensure that we have enough test booklets and scantrons onsite to fulfill your order.
  4. How long will it take to receive my order?
    Most orders will be processed and shipped by MDTP at UCSD. You should get your testing materials within a week after placing your order unless you get an email from MDTP stating otherwise.

During Testing

  1. What information do I need to fill out on the Class Information Sheet?
    Please use this page to help complete your Class Information Sheet. Make sure that each teacher conducting the test provides an email address in order to receive students’ tests results in a timely manner.
  2. What information do students need to fill out on the Student Scantron?
    Students need to bubble in their First and Last name. All other information is optional. Make sure there are no extraneous markings on the scantron. Our scantron machine is highly sensitive and will not score scantrons with extraneous markings.

After Testing

  1. What address should I use to ship my package?

    We recommend getting a tracking number with your package to ensure receipt of delivery.
  2. When will I get my student test results back?
    Once we receive your package, you will receive your students’ test results within 2 work days via email. If any information is missing on the Class Information Sheet, such as, which exam was tested or the teachers’ email address, it may take longer to receive test results. Please use this page to help fill out your Class Information Sheet correctly.


  1. Where can I registered for the MDTP Online Testing Platform?
    You can register for our Online Platform here. Once registered, please bookmark the testing platform page for future reference: https://mdtpdiagnostic.ucsd.edu/v2/login
  2. How far in advance should I register for the MDTP Online Testing Platform?
    Once registered for the online platform, you can begin testing immediately. We do recommend registering at least a couple of days before testing so you can familiarize yourself with the platform. You can also visit our MDTP Online Support Tutorials to help navigate our online testing platform. You can also email mdtp@ucla.edu if you have any specific questions.
  3. When will I get my student test results back?
    When using our online platform, you can view your students data and test results immediately.
  4. I registered for the Online Platform already, but am unable to access my account. Can you please help?
    You may need to reset your password. To do so, go onto mdtpdiagnostic.ucsd.edu, click Educator –> Readiness –> Enter your email address –> Click “Forgot Password?” You will get an email shortly to reset your password. If that doesn’t fix the issue, please email us at mdtp@ucla.edu.
  5. Do you offer placement tests?
    We do have an MDTP 9th Grade Assessment developed in response to SB-359 and are intended to provide California schools with a tool to help inform placement. These tests can be used as one of multiple placement measures, as per SB-359 requirements.  MDTP 9th Grade Assessments are only available online using the MDTP Assessment Platform. For access to MDTP 9th grade assessments, please register here.
